Sharing the Dream

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! To celebrate dreams of a better life, I'm sharing a page I made with my family, including my mom, my cousins and my immigrant grandparents. My grandparents each traveled from Hungary to find work and freedom and found each other. My favorite story is that another man was courting my teen grandmother by bringing her gifts, including candy. My grandfather came to court and did not bring gifts, in fact—he ate the other man's candy! Obviously, Grandpa had more to recommend him or Grandma would never have chosen him. Here's to all of our ancestors who made the U.S. a better place by following their dreams. And here's to Martin Luther King, Jr. who gave us words and actions to follow to keep making the U.S. better!

This paper is Bo Bunny, the embellies are from my collection, the washi is Tim Holtz and the letters are Graphic 45.

Have you made a scrapbook page about your family and where they came from? I'd love to see it—add a link in the comments if you want to share it.

Scroll down to enter my giveaway of scrap goodies and a $25 2 Peas gift certificate. It's open until this Thursday night!
