All You With Hearts Out There—Care!

Ok, just having a little fun with the Caring Hearts Card Drive that Vera Yates (Ling) puts together each year. In an effort to reach out to the elderly in nursing homes, who might not get a lot of holiday cheer, Vera (along with tons of other people) makes, collects and distributes holiday cards to nursing homes. She's been inviting us to join along for a few years. I've made some in the past and made about 20 for this year. If you have some time, maybe even a few minutes while you watch tv, throw together a handmade card with a sentiment and send it off to the collection addresses found on the blog. Your work will be appreciated, of that you can be sure!

Here are some snowman cards. (Could the lighting be any weirder here? Sorry!) The first uses this Paper Smooches snowman stamp and a chipboard snowflake I had that was already pre-glittered.

This one uses itty bitty stickers from a bookstore and some huge silver snowflakes I found at Hobby Lobby this week. They aren't black as they appear at the top, and you can tell at the bottom that they are silver.

This last guy is another snowman from Paper Smooches. Love their stamps! The silver confetti is from the same pack as the snowflakes.

Have a good (snowy?) day and I'll see you back here Friday! p.s. Congrats to my talented daughter who won Honorable Mention in a library poetry contest in the over-18 category and also will be published in her university lit mag...she practically bleeds ink! :)
