Make It Monday

I saw a technique from a watercolor class that uses watercolor to make a title. This was perfect for the National Scrapbook Day challenge at Scrapbook.com, in which you were supposed to create some kind of watercolor word or title. Here's my layout of the cutest little boy in town—my hubby. I just tacked down the photo since his mom wrote on the back and the photo is damaged, so I'm going to have to do some editing when I can.

Here's a close-up. I traced in pencil around a chipboard m, then removed it and painted around it with blue and green and a lot of water. Then I let it dry and added the words. It says, "if i could just say that playpen doesn't strike me as terribly sturdy."

And if you look here, you'll see it bows in the middle. I guess after three other boys, the equipment probably started to wear :) The washi tape is from JoAnn's near the fabric counter and was 97 cents for two rolls—yay!

It might be time to break out the watercolors for your layouts and cards if you haven't given it a shot yet and make something fun!

Have a Great Day!
