Birdy Card with Frame

I'm using my color layering bird stamps from Hero Arts again, and some of the newer Hero Arts Bold inks. Love them! They are so rich and dense...and they're hybrid inks so they work in a lot of situations, They're crisp and dry quickly, combining the best of dye and pigment inks. Also you can use these on vellum, which is always tricky. This is the HA post on the inks so you can see all the prettiness!

The blue frame is Spellbinders and the ribbon is from my stash.

The bird's tail is a little wider than it's supposed to be. Because me and layering stamps don't always get along and I forgot to line up the tail and beak and concentrated on the beak and head. Ooops! I think it's ok, though, because maybe this bird just has a fat tail—no judgement! :)

The sky color is just my handy dandy Broken China Distress Ink and just painted on lightly.

I'm really glad I got these inks and bought some more solid stamps so I could use them more and I'm not much of an ink girl.

If you head to a2z Scrapbooking, you can get all the colors and the reinkers, and if you use CHARK15 as your code, you'll save 15% on your cart of $25 or more, including the sale items, so that's a double discount, woot!

Also I have this card up on the a2z blog with a digi image. It was a lot of fun to color. I'd like to enter it in the Blog Named Hero challenge this month, Pop of Color.

Happy Wednesday friends!

  1. Wonderful card! Love the colors, and I don't think the bird's tail looks one bit fat. :) Tfs! ~ Andrea
