Life's A Beach

I managed to do another beach scrap page, even though I didn't take a thousand pictures. I liked the ones I took and they motivated me to scrap. I like the beginning of this page, but it feels unfinished. I need a title and maybe a little design help.

I'm taking suggestions if you have any. Where would you put the title? and journaling? Do you like the center cards or not?

Women's Equality Day

"Women’s Equality Day commemorates 26th August 1920 when votes to women officially became part of the US constitution." And it now represents how organizations support women's education and right to live free of violence across the globe. Now that's worth celebrating! Thanks for the info, Days of the Year. 

I highly recommend Iron Jawed Angels with Hilary Swank. It's a gorgeous piece of film that I got out from the library and opened my eyes. I will never take voting for granted again.

Say Goodbye To Summer

In the last week, we finished a short vacation, sent the high schooler back to school, took the college senior to her school and our temperatures have dropped to chilly in the morning. I think it's officially time to say goodbye to summer. cry. I love the lazy days of summer and no schedules and spending time with the kids and going places we've not been. So, a fond farewell to my favorite season in pictures.

And, yes, I noticed that I didn't make it into the pictures...although I am in one that my husband took on his phone, so I have proof I was on this vacation with them :) Does that ever happen to you? Lots of pics of everyone else? I guess I need to take more selfies like the kids, who will literally jam my camera with their weird selfies if I leave it about for them to find. And someday, I'll put those pics up and maybe, just maybe, that'll keep that to a minimum :)

First Vacation Layout

We just got back from our Michigan vacation three days ago, and I already have a scrapbook layout finished! That has to be some kind of record! And here's why—the first thing I did when we got back was to visit my favorite local scrap shop and cupcake shop (they are conveniently located next to each other) and found Pretty Little Studio items in the The Paper Cottage. I love PLS, even though I mostly hoard the pretty little items instead of using them. But this time, I found all kinds of beautiful beach items and brought them home and then I printed my favorite pic from vacation of my son and sat down to scrap.

Here's the result.

The 12x12 paper is Fancy Pants and the beach paper is some kind of bargain bin paper with texture that I inked up a little. The rest is all PLS. Here's a close up it so you can see the paper and word stickers. I trimmed the gold anchor from a story card.

I'm entering it over at the PLS monthly sketch challenge, hope you'll join me! I love that the paper is all handmade in the US and run by one little shop. The woman who owns it will often ask opinions on Facebook on what colors the next collection should be. It's a very cool way to run a business. 

I've ordered from them online multiple times and never had a problem and am not affiliated with them in any way...I just love the vintage illustrations and the printed vellum and clear papers. Oh, and the flair is gorgeous, as are the stickers words in gold and silver—I hear teal word stickers are next. yum!
