Trying a Card Kit and Loving It

I've never been a huge fan of card kits, in fact, I've only purchased paper with matching stickers or die cuts, not an entire huge kit, and it's mostly because I don't always like every item in a kit. But I did purchase a Spellbinders card kit recently because it was crazy on sale and I liked a lot of the items. It was half off the $55 price and had stamps, dies, a patterned paper 6x6 pad, die cuts, stickers, cards and envelopes and even sequins.

When it arrived, it was a ton of fun to open up and see all the goodies. And I sat right down to make some cards with it. For this one, I used patterned paper and some of the die cuts and stickers. Easy peasy!

I love the glittered and gilded butterfly dimensional stickers included in the kit and used three on this card. You can see the gold on the paper in the close up.

I used all die cuts and patterned paper for this adorable cat card, and popped some elements up with foam tape.

I think this last one is my favorite, because I love typewriter elements. The text paper is mine and the sentiment stickers are Tim Holtz, But it's another fast card using die cuts.

I haven't even dipped into the 8.5x11 papers or the dies yet, but it won't be long til I try them out. Have you ever bought a kit? As long as it's on sale and has mostly good things, I'll consider it again in the future.

Happy Friday!

If You Like Cats

If you like cats, you'll like this Cat Lovers Blog Hop over at Her Peaceful Garden. I've played along last year and this year and it's a fun hop where you can see tons of cat projects, play in the games and enter to win prizes.

I'm no longer a kitty owner but I had the best cat buddy when I was a teen. He was named for Mikhail Barishnkov...I called him Mickey. He looked a lot like this cat I've colored up today for my project. The cat is a digi stamp from Isabel Cristina and I used Prismacolor pencils and a white uniball pen for him. He looks a little shaggy, but whatcha gonna do?

The background is Distress Oxides used as paint and the sentiment is from Neat & Tangled Typed Sentiments stamps . The card warped a bit from the water, but I'm going to put it under some heavy books to see if that helps.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Saturday!

Cat Nap with 2 Cute Ink

I've had this digi cat stamp for awhile (I actually have a bunch of 2 Cute Ink Stamps) and I printed it out on kraft paper and of course, used my Prismacolor pencils to color them up. I added them to some paw paper from a 6x6 pad I found at Michael's on sale. The washi tape is from the same collection...I love a good sale!

Can you tell I used up half of my dark blue pencil? lol. Don't forget to stop by here and IG on Friday for the start of my Thanks and Giving giveaway! Four Fridays of crafty stuff just for you!

Happy Wednesday!

Kitties in Digi

My daughter has requested a cute cat card for a friend, so I searched for some cute cat images. I found some called Meow at Isabel Cristina's etsy shop here. This whole set is just $1.92!
.

I haven't made the card yet but I did color the image I plan to use. I tried a couple of different cat types that I looked up for coloring help. Which is your favorite?

I used Prismacolor pencils of course, and added the ground and hearts to the image. I think I prefer the bottom but they were both fun to color.

Happy Monday!
