Hannah Lynn For The Win

I stinkin' love Hannah Lynn Designs digital stamps. They are lovely and just perfect for coloring. I got this fab steampunk girl called Miss Maribelle a little while ago and couldn't resist trying out some different colors.

I printed her on coated cardstock because it takes the laser ink well, but it is trickier to use coated paper with the colored pencils. Still works with Prismacolor pencils, but layering to get deeper colors is a little harder...the paper resists the wax in the pencils a little. So I used some Tombow markers and some white Uniball to get more variation.

Here she is in several colors. I tried some darker skin tones by layering my color, but I couldn't get too dark, because when you color over your first layer, it really just replaces the first layer. Almost as if it scratches it off as you color.

On the Green Girl, I used some marker for darker shadows. She's as dark as I got, since I can't find a good brown that I like. I think I have most of them, but none are just right.

For the Blue Girl, I matched her dress and hair.

For the Blond Girl, I went traditional hair and eye colors but I'm not sure bright purple and blue are really all that steampunk traditional.

And I had to try some yellow clothes since my daughter loves yellow. It's not my all-time fave color, but I liked it with all the pink here.

Here they are on the same sheet, with my color practice on the side. I really can't pick a favorite, because I like and dislike something about each one. But it was definitely fun to try different colors for the same stamp just to see how it affected her look.

All of Hannah Lynn Designs are fun to color and have great hair and eyes. I wouldn't want to color this close of a pic full size, I think it'd get tedious to do an full-sheet with all that hair, but the quarter page or a little larger is a great size for me. I don't get bored. She also sells coloring books and art pieces on her site. So far, I've only purchased the digis, but I've been happy with all of them. They have them at Crafts and Me online as well.

Star Fairy at Night

I used this Hannah Lynn digital stamp of a fairy to make a card today and I looovve her. Well, to be fair, I love Hannah Lynn in general. They are so fun to color and so pretty.

I used Prismacolor pencils to color her after I printed her on a Laser Jet b&w printer. The only trouble I had for smearing was with the color blender pencil and the black lines. I used white Univall to add accents and a die from Neat & Tangled to add blue watercolored stars with Stickles glitter.

Happy Cinco de Mayo...I didn't celebrate yet, but I do have some pulled pork in the fridge that I could put into a burrito if I was feeling sassy and I just might. But look at this recipe. Yum! Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla...yes, please.

I'm adding a little craft too, just because why not? It's Cinco de Mayo! Aren't these Little Pinatas cute?

Happy Friday!

Hannah Lynn Stamp in Blues

I don't remember where I first saw Hannah Lynn's art, but it had to be one of her beautiful digi stamps someone had used. I love her style and the way the images are drawn and easy to color and the fact that she has something for just about everyone.

She has fairies, Wizard of Oz!, Alice in Wonderland, witches, mermaids, snow scenes, Halloween scenes, and now her beautiful girl images come in coloring books, so you get a lot of images all in one spot.

This is one I got with the little sample pack of images you can get here. It's ATC sized and she just begged for me to break out the blues, purples, and greens.

I layered her with some preprinted pocket cards I had and love how it looks all together. I know I'll keep buying Hannah Lynn images because they are fun to color and practice on. I have some in my Smash book, art journal and cards. And I have nieces who would love a little pocket coloring book of their own.

If you're interested, she has a sale on some of her books...I'm not affiliated, just a fan who loves a sale! Oh, and you can pick up two free digis right now on her site, including this cute hot cocoa fairy!

Happy Monday!

It's Always Tea Time

Here's my second card for the Coffee Lovers Bloghop.

"It's always tea time." The Mad Hatter says this in Alice in Wonderland and I had this fab image from Hannah Lynn at Crafts and Me of Alice so I put the two together for this hop.

That actually looks more like a coffee pot than a tea pot, but it's a little wooden icon from Prima and it's adorable, so I added it anyway.

If you look closely near the bow in her hair, you'll see a tea cup, a cupcake, a playing card and a rook.

She's an unconventional Alice, but I love her in bright colors! I used Tombow markers and white gel pen.

BLOG CANDY ALERT: I'm giving away 5 digi stamps from 2 Cute Ink. This is open to everyone and you can choose which stamps you like if your name is chosen. Digi stamps are easy to use and if you have a printer and email, that's all you need. Leave a comment here or on any of my posts during the hop to be entered.

Here are a couple of the cute stamps available.

Happy Hopping!
