Take Some More Tea

I love Alice images and these four characters get the quirky Vera Lane touch over in her store. 

So, of course, they're in my digi collection. Seems like every time I visit the Etsy store, I find more delightful stamps I need.

I used Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils just to see if I liked how one looked over the other. But I like both products and I have fewer colors in the Polychromos, so I used more Prismas.

I love all of them and their expressions, but this caterpillar! So stinkin' cute...though I think he's  offended at that word.

The Mad Hatter looks quite mad here...and totally okay with that.

If I see Alice or Dorothy products, I usually have to buy them, even though I have so many already. I prefer the Oz books and movie to Alice, but the quotes in Alice are wonderful. Graphic 45 has reissued their Wizard of Oz collection and I think I'm going to go look for it right now!

I've probably shared this, but one of my fondest memories of playing with my kids was the day we made a little Alice in Wonderland tea party and had bunny cookie cutter sandwiches and edible tea cups (made with white chocolate and muffin papers like these below). We drank milk from the cup and then ate the dishes!

Freebie Friday and More Whimsy

Hey, friends, can't believe it's July already...April and May were all about getting ready for the son's high school graduation...and then suddenly June has already passed! I hope this month and next seem a little slower before the deadlines and pressures of college rear their heads. Still, it has been a lovely summer. We enjoyed the grad party and seeing tons of relatives and friends, dinner at night on the patio, new car buying and no alarm clock going off at 6 a.m. So no complaints from me!

Today I thought I'd share another page in my Jane Davenport Whimsical Girl journal, which has been all kinds of fun to play with. Here's the before page.

And here's the during...I'm not finished yet. But I have worn down a lot of Prismacolor Pencils in blues and purples! Not sure what else I will do with this one, but I don't feel like it's finished yet.

To help you get some coloring in this weekend, I've included links to some free digi art. The first one is this little teacup pig from Homemaker's Hutch.

The second is this summer scene from Get Drawings...they have a lot of images for free to color and some already colored.

Hero Arts Large Hydrangea Lots of Ways

So, I recently got this Large Hydrangea stamp and I looove it! It's a wooden stamp, which is tricky for me—I'm not a great stamper and the clear stamps are easier to fix when they don't go well, but I had to have this. 

I love hydrangea flowers and have two shrubs which usually do beautifully for me. Which is impressive, because I am a terrible gardener. I wish I were better and I try every year, but unless you can thrive by yourself, you probably don't belong in my yard. 

I used this stamp for my posts over at a2z Scrapbooking here and here. 

And this is another incarnation of this stamp. This time, I embossed not in white but in gold and the paper is vellum instead of cardstock. I used my Prismacolor pencils to color, which is what I used on the red card. The purple hydrangea is done in Twinkling H2O watercolors.

I used shiny gold paper to cut an oval frame for this one, to match the embossing. I haven't made it into a card yet, but I want to! I don't often emboss on vellum, but it looks fab with this stamp.

Do you have any stamps that you use a ton? I think this one will be a favorite of mine. It's fun to color and so pretty.

Lovely Harvest Fairies

I just stumbled onto Crafts & Me, by seeing someone's blog with the DT button for them and checked them out. They have this cool freebie stamp and contest going on on their FB page here. They sell digi stamps and rubber stamps by one of my favorites, Hannah Lynn Designs, and a whole bunch of other artists. Couldn't resist the freebie, by Robin Pushay, though it was a little daunting at first—lots to color.

But in the end, I watched both The Originals (vampires in N'awlins, yes, please) and Downton Abbey (flappers and motorcars for your perusal) and had a ball while I took hours to finish this.

First I used my Prismacolor pencils, then added Tombow markers (which are pretty vivid) and then added fun dots and lines with the white gel pen. Next was some watercolor with one of the light blue Tombow markers for the sky and finally, yes, Stickles! I stickled Star Dust the wings of both fairies as you can see better in the close-up. 

I don't know why I gave the top fairy purple and white striped tights, technically they should've been black and white in homage to Wizard of Oz, but I didn't think. Next time, she's getting Dorothy shoes too with my Xmas Red Stickles.

2 Cute 4 Me

I joined the 2 Cute Ink Stamp Club and had some coloring fun the other night. I haven't used these for a project yet, but they are so stinkin' cute! The club is $5 a month for a set of digis and then you get an exclusive digi each month and can buy any from her etsy store for $1 each. Seems worth it to me, I love her drawings!

Here's a close-up of the cutie gingerbread boy.

I love using Prismacolor pencils on kraft, they are so vibrant.
