Want Some Pi?

Happy National Pi Day...it's 3/14 and as you probably know, 3.14 begin the numerals of the infinite pi. What makes me so happy about this is that it's celebrated with pie! Fruit pie, cream pie and pizza pie...you can't go wrong with pie!

So, here's a little nod to you mathematicians out there...from an English major who avoided as many math classes as humanly possible, yet somehow gave birth to a girl who made up math games to get her through gym class in middle school (no lie, the girl used the license plates in the lot where they ran laps to make up complicated math games for fun during running).

And here's a couple of pie recipes for those of you who relate more to that part of today! Here's one of my faves, Chocolate Silk Pie and it uses pasteurized eggs (like Egg Beaters) so you don't use raw eggs. Definitely a good idea!

And isn't this a clever little way of making pies? If you've got an ice cube tray, you've got cute little pies waiting to happen. These are savory pies but they still count as pies!

And, last but not least, a delish and easy hand pie to make when you've got a craving but the peaches aren't ripe or you don't have time to make your own crust. My mom swears by the Pillsbury Refrigerated crusts found near the Crescent Rolls (that you have to roll out). They are so close to homemade and so easy!

Happy Wednesday!
