Masculine Thank You Card

I'm a huge glitter fan (duh) and although some guys might like glitter, lots of my family do not. So I try to control myself when I send cards to them...and let me tell you, it's hard for me. But, Paper Smooches has fun challenge up, School/Words, so I added the challenge of making a card without glittery bits.

I don't have any "school" themed Paper Smooches, but I have the Spookalicious Halloween set with an owl, so he got star billing. I added the sentiment from this set and watercolored the owl with Distress inks. After adding washi tape, I mounted the panel on kraft and stopped myself from decorating the owl with some Stickles. But I did sneak in some shiny Chrome pen dots.

Would You Like Fries With That

You know how they ask you if you want a little something extra with your food at the drive-thru? Well, the owner at the local scrap shop asked me if I wanted to add the matching dies for these cute Sugar Rush stamps I was buying. I gave it some thought, but the dies and stamps together would be $40 and that's way over my scrap budget for a single visit.

So I said no. Then I went home, stamped away, colored and stickled the images. Then I fussy cut...and let me tell you, they're small...and difficult to cut and I didn't do a very neat job, not to put too fine a point on it :) So today I was looking at them and thinking and guess what? I'm buying them the next time! Cuz I learn from my mistakes.

But they are stinkin' cute, don't you think? Which is why I'll be making them again. They're fun and cute and you can mix it up a little with the little faces. You can get em here if you like em too.

Third Time's A Charm

This is my third post for Wednesday, but I thought I had missed the Blogiversary linkup over at Jenn's blog, so I didn't post my pics and then I said, "wait! It's only the 5th, you have plenty of time." Or at least another day...so if you have time, I hope you'll join me in the celebration here at Jenn's.

Can you believe she has 10 years of blogging to celebrate? I'm thinking of how many projects and posts that is and I am sooo impressed! Congrats, Jenn! You deserve a celebration. With cake. And possibly presents. 

Here's the card I CASEd of Jenn's. She CASEd this herself on the blog, but I really like these Hero Arts butterflies and colors, so I used the original.

 

Here's my take with my new Paper Smooches stamps called Sugar Rush. Stinkin' cute, aren't they?! Happy popsicles make me happy. I made a mini card, so I couldn't space them like the butterflies, but I used the same colors and then stood them on top of each other.

 

Congrats again to Jenn and thanks for the fun inspiration! You're definitely one of my go-to blogs now for loveliness!

I Heart You

Today over at the a2z Scrapbooking Blog, I have a project for Valentine's Day posted. I made a set of cork coasters with a fun stamp and embossing. I made a matching card too and I think it'd make a fab masculine gift.

Saturday Smooches

I love Paper Smooches stamps and Paper Smooches SPARKS, their challenge blog. So much inspiration and talented folks over there. Their challenge this week is a sketch.

Here's what I did with the sketch.

I love these little snowmen stamps (Freezy Fellas) and you can get your own at the Paper Smooches store, if you love em too! I stamped and colored him with colored pencils, then fussy cut the little guy. I used Doodlebug Designs papers, love the vibrant colors of the Frosty Friends collection, and some sequins. The sentiment is in Kim's (from Paper Smooches) great handwriting, like a lot of their stamps. Adorable!

What Time Is It? It's Challenge Time!

I'm entering this little gift bag I made with my Paper Smooches stamps over at...get this...the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge here. If you're super fast, you can join me—the deadline is tonight! Here's the sketch I used for the panel before I attached it to my gift bag. I used both the Spookalicious and the Halloweenies sets. So fun!

And this bag is one I made using the Hero Arts Happy Birthday Grid Stamp. The ribbon comes pleated like this and I love it. I love it so much, it's about gone and I have no idea where I got it. sigh. At least it looks good here!
