Hero Arts Ornaments Dies in Two Ways

Hi, friends, I'm up on the a2z Scrapbooking blog today using the ornament dies from Hero Arts in a new way...I made Santa and Rudolph with them! Here's a peek...head to the blog here to see more info and pics.

And here are the same ornament dies in a more traditional use as tags. I used coated paper (the kind that has a sheen to it but isn't actually glossy photo paper) and alcohol inks and just dripped away. Here's the pile I ended up with.

And here are some in close-up. I don't think I have a bad color combo, even though I wasn't too careful on what I was putting next to each other. If something looks off, I just dab and add more color and it will work out okay.

I've always loved how alcohol inks spread and combine and just have such fabulous depth of color and now that Jennifer McGuire is revisiting them in her work, I was reminded to get mine out and play too. I just wrote names on these, but you can use letter stickers too.

On these, I added white Uniball ink initials. I'm using them for family so they'll know who they come from, but you can always add more info on the back of the tags.

Ornaments Infinity Dies as Gift Tags

I have the Ornaments Infinity dies from Hero Arts and love them. I've been using them as Christmas bulbs, as balloons and on cards. 

Here are a few tags I created for gifts. This first set was made with stencils. The aqua one uses Aquamarine Nuvo Mousse. That stuff is so shiny and so yummy looking. This ornament has a lot of texture. To put a name on this, I will probably use sticker alphabet letters or possibly write on the back. 

For the other ornaments in the same picture, I used a stencil with Gansai Tambi shimmer watercolors and then die cut the ornaments. Again, the shimmer is lovely, though different from the Nuvo paste. I hand lettered the names. I still need to add the ornament top from the die set. 

This set of ornaments uses Distress Oxide inks. I used the Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Salty Ocean. On the little tree ornament, I inked it with shadows and highlights after die cutting. The rest were cut from a sheet of inked cardstock. I used white ink for the highlights. These don't shimmer, but the colors are fab.

Ornaments Infinity Dies Card

I've been hooked on die cutting on my Big Shot a lot lately and the Hero Arts Ornaments Infinity Dies are so festive I've been cutting all kinds of ornaments. Today I have a card to share. I used some foil cardstock in gold, and die cut three ornaments. Then I put flat glitter (not chunky) behind them and covered with a piece of packaging acetate. It's not a shaker card per se, but the glitter moves a bit. I wanted it to more or less stay in place and it does.

The two colorful ornaments are made from alcohol inks dripped onto shrinky dink plastic and then die cut. But I didn't shrink them, I just left them full-size and then popped them up with tape. The plastic takes the color nicely. The strings are stickers and gold Stickles. I added a strip of striped gold and kraft paper at the bottom. And that's it!

Hero Arts Infinity Ornament Dies

Hi, friends, just got some new dies from Hero Arts and I've been die cutting all over the place! Well, just one place literally--the kitchen table--but I've been die cutting plain paper, watercolor paper, painted paper, patterned paper and whatever I can think of.

Here's another take on it, with a die cut heart with some Nuvo Copper Gilded Flakes behind it. When you use the flakes, you need an adhesive that stays sticky like this glue pen here. I gilded the ornament top too. The front of the ornament is pink pearlized paint over the Hero Arts Asian Flower Stencil. I looovvee these watercolors, they're so shiny!
