Happy Easter Fools' Day!

Ok, I know it's past Easter and it's actually April Fools' Day today, but I have an Easter digi I never got to share so here it is in full color. I decided to put a rainbow behind this adorable bunny from 2 Cute Ink and really wore down my Prismacolors doing it! Lots of pressure and a couple of layers and you get this bright, bold rainbow from pencils.

I kept him white with a little gray shading and pink ears and belly so he stands out. Have I said I love 2 Cute stamps? Cuz I do!

Gotta share a couple of April Fools' food pranks we've played (the kids and I) on the hubby in the past. This classic grilled cheese is actually pound cake and icing, grilled in a skillet. This one actually worked!

This spaghetti cake was fun, but didn't fool him...still it was tasty!

And these Cake Fries worked too—we just served them with buttercream thinned icing so we could get the tomato color just right (they use raspberries at this link). You don't even have to crinkle cut to get a good fry look, just make them thin sticks like  you get at McD's.

I  think these are much better food pranks than this one—toothpaste Oreos. Gross and not a fun surprise...don't mess with my Oreos, people!

Hope you have a fun day with no mean pranks...that's my plan!

Happy Friday!

I Love My Lips

So, apparently it's Lips Appreciation Day. I'm pretty sure I appreciate my lips every day, usually when I'm eating and speaking, but I guess we needed a holiday to remember our lips.

Of course I couldn't help but think of this Veggie Tales song...Larry, everyone's favorite cucumber, sings it and I haven't heard it in years, but still remember it. It's that catchy. You can click on the bottom pic to hear and see it in all its silly glory.

So, from silly songs to more coloring up of my 2 Cute Ink digi stamps. Seriously, love how cute these are just in time for Easter too! Printed on kraft and colored with Prismacolor pencils.

When I first got these images, I didn't notice that the kangeroo is holding chicks and not just eggs. How fun is that?

Happy Wednesday from Ohio, where it's all kinds of windy today!

Easter Means Chickies

Got the cutest chick stamps from 2 Cute Ink digital stamps, printed him on kraft and colored him up with my Prismacolor pencils. Then I realized I had some pics from last Easter's egg hunt (so sad, one kid at college means a one-kid hunt but he's all for it still, so that's good) that I could scrap. So I did!

You might notice that the Hulk (who is attached to the pick-up) is holding an egg. That one took the son awhile to find. I'm not the fastest scrapper or the best, but I enjoy it and I loved being able to use the chicky stamp on the page. Ever stamp, digital or rubber, on your scrapbook pages?

Happy Friday!

Easter Cuteness

If you're a scrapper, you probably have older pictures that need scrapped...or maybe you don't. I had these from 2008 (don't judge) and finally got them on a page. The Doodlebug Easter Parade paper and stickers I got were just too cute to leave on the shelf.

The series of pics are of my son completely missing an egg and it was kinda cracking me up...wait, crack, egg...I made a pun! Still, it was funny because it was like he assumed it would just appear if he kept looking in the same place. And our daughter immediately starting eating her candy before her brother even finished finding his. Kids!

I made these journaling cards out of the paper and added some washi and the little critter stickers. For the background, I started with a white page, sponged on some Distress Inks in random order (Picked Raspberry, Lemonade, Peacock Blue)  around the outer edge of the paper and added more Doodlebug patterned paper. It was actually a really quick page and that's saying something for me. I'm definitely a slow scrapper.

Happy Easter!

Doodlebug Bunnies

I love Doodlebug Design for its cuteness—they consistently do cute very well. I know it's not up everyone's alley, but I think I buy something from each new line they come out with. From the Easter Parade line, I got two sheets of paper and stickers. For this project, I used the stickers only.

I used a little 4x6 canvas board I had, rubbed some Distress inks (Picked Raspberry, Lemonade and Peacock Blue) on it directly and then moved the ink with my finger. Then I added some of the cutest washi tape ever from Artsyville and the Doodlebug stickers, including the fence, and then added sequins. It came together really fast and made me happy.

Here it is in close-up and extreme close-up...or as Wayne from Wayne's World would say, unnecessary zoom.

The flower sequins are Teresa Collins.

Hope you have a great Monday, it's all sunny here in Ohio, so I'm going to enjoy that!
