Hero Arts Dragonfly Fancy Die

You guys! I've been making all kinds of dragonflies at my house with my new Dragonfly Fancy die. I've used vellum, cardstock, metallic paper and more. Here's a pile of them.

And here are a couple of my faves. This one uses green metallic painted paper (using Twinkle H2O paints) and vellum wings with Stickles glitter on the vellum.

This one uses white cardstock with Diamond Stickles for the body and blue metallic paper for the body.

Boo Stamp and Cut Treat Bag

I used the Hero Arts Boo Stamp and Cut to make the tag for this purple treat bag, I love the ghost dies and haven't even really stamped up the ghosts, just used the dies! I'll have to ink them up before it's Halloween for sure.

These little treat bags are easy to make and take no time at all. Just choose your paper, I have purple shiny paper from who knows where :) and I cut it into 4.5" x 11".

Then I scored it at 4" and 5.25" that will be the bottom of the bag. Scored again at 9" for the top fold.

I folded the bag and then at the top, used a 1.5" circle punch to punch a half-circle in the top like this.

Next, I filled a plastic treat bag with candy, tied it off and inserted into the treat bag.

I adhered the flap closed and then added the tag. I die cut the ghosts from black cardstock and backed it with vellum, so easy and ghostly. Boo!

Love This Printed Vellum

So, Pretty Little Studio is one of my favorite shops for unique and vintage items. They have die cuts of vintage Santas, little girls in big dresses and birthday parties. But they also carry some new fresh designs. One of my favorite is the Hello Heather collection.

This printed vellum (I'm using the green with flower print) is sooo pretty! I trimmed some layers and added the Hero Arts So Sorry Stamp & Cut heart that I'm enamored with lately. The background stencil is also Hero Arts and is on sale at a2z scrapbooking for $3.50 right now!

I watercolored the heart with Tombow markers and added my favorite crafty item, Stickles, in gold in the center die cut, along with some bold ribbon I found on sale at Michael's.

Gotta admit, I like how all the different elements came together for this card.

Vellum Heart

Today I  thought I'd share a card that's a little larger than my standard 4.25" x 5.5" size. Not quite
a 5" x 7" size, but I wanted to show the whole stencil and it's almost that size.

I used Hero Arts Mid-Tone Navy ink for the HA Glorious Petal stencil and then watercolored a heart die from the So Sorry Stamp & Cut set, using Distress Inks. The vellum heart is die cut from light green vellum I've had forever. The gold word and heart stickers are from Pretty Little Studio. I looovvee their gold word stickers, the little phrase is from the die cuts from Hello Heather over at PLS  too.

I love the Navy on kraft look, this ink rocks! It's a nice truly blue ink, not too black, and it's just a good ink. Jennifer McGuire likes the Mid-Tone inks from Hero Arts, so I bought a couple to try them out. She's right, they're very nice.

I'll be giving this to my hubby tomorrow for our 26th wedding anniversary--unbelievable how fast time has gone! He's my high school sweetheart and person I trust most in this world. We were so lucky to find each other so early in life and that we grew up together and still like each other!

It's So Pinteresting

I thought today I'd share some Pinterest pics that I really want to try today. And then, with luck, I'll be back later this week to share how they turned out!

This beauty of a card is by my former DT buddy, Betty, and I love the whole thing. What I really want to try is the stamping on vellum. I love the soft look of it, even though I'm wondering how my vellum will do with heat embossing. Only one way to find out!

I actually have this embossing folder and love the idea...no added bulk that will add postage, but a unique way to jazz up the envie for a birthday card. April is definitely the month for birthdays in this house, and I have some at the very end of the month, so this could be doable!

I love the colors in this one from Lydia at Altenew and the idea behind it, just a white pencil for shading and a great card color and you're good! I know I don't have this color of paper, but I'm betting I can find something close if I make a trip to the craft store...darn! now I have to go to the craft store. Well, if I have to, I have to. :)

Happy Glitter

I recently got a new die and stamp set from Hero Arts and can't stop using it! Love the Happy die, and here it is in glitter paper. 

I also used a rub-on from my Pinkfresh Studio January kit that I won on the blog...it came with stamps, fabric tags, rub-ons, gold flair and more. Love!

The pink paper is made with vellum and Hero Arts ink daubers. You can get them at a2z Scrapbooking Supplies if you're interested. The color is bright and happy on the vellum. I used a strip of silver paper (though it looks black in the pic) that was embossed in white and leftover from another project.

Monday's Child is Fair of Face

I was born on a Monday, so I guess I'm all "fair of face." Lol! I love that little rhyme, especially since both my kids were born on Sundays...so that makes them bonny and blithe!

And here's a segue for you—a baby card! I used Pretty Little Studio products and I just love their vintage die cuts, like this little guy and their printed vellum like the aqua wood grain here.

If you want to know what day you were born on, check day of birth. They'll also give you some more of your "characteristics" like I'm apparently soft-spoken and like to spend time with my family...while the second is true, the first...well, I don't think so! It also says I tend to have anemia-related problems and I do take iron sometimes for anemia. Hmmm, weird!

Bunnies Make Me Happy

This bunny die cut from Pretty Little Studio comes in a packet of small ones like this for $1.99 and a larger version for just 99¢. One of the tiny ones runs just 25¢ and that is hard to resist! 

For this card, I used my fave Hero Arts triangle die from a2z Scrapbooking Supplies to emboss on green metallic paper. I used the sketch from Pretty Little Studio's August Challenge. The sticker sentiment is from SRM stickers. The papers and the woodgrain stars are from Pretty Little Studio.

This card uses the same sketch and more Pretty Little Studio products, including the printed vellum in gold stars and mint woodgrain. Love this vellum, I don't work for them or anything, but I love their product and site—if you love vintage, cute die cuts, printed vellum or fun sequins, you'll love them!

Can You Say Obsessed?

It's my latest obsession—the Triangle Background Die from Hero Arts that I got from a2z Scrapbooking Supplies. I just keep making triangle backgrounds! Here's the lastest. I used the die cut with my Big Shot with a bright blue cardstock and then mounted it on silver glitter paper. I added some red glitter triangles for fun and a sentiment from this Hero Arts stamp set that I won from Tone at Small T Creations.

 

Thanks, Tone! I also used the feather set here from Hero Arts, using their White Unicorn Ink on vellum. The sentiment is stamped with Staz On ink on vellum. p.s. I cannot get a clear picture when glitter is involved. Must figure this out, as my glitter usage is legen...wait for it...dary.
